What is a dental check up?

The dental exam consists of the dentist looking inside your mouth for damaged, missing or decayed teeth, early signs of cavities, condition of your gums, etc.

A check up exam includes dental x-rays which are an important diagnostic tool in detecting different forms of oral disease, cavities, etc.

Our digital dental x-rays can help detect :

  • Cavities.
  • Abscess/cysts.
  • Bone loss.
  • Interproximal decay.
  • Poor tooth and root positions.

The dental exam can catch problems early—before you see or feel them—when they are much easier and less expensive to treat. A regular dental checkup and teeth cleaning is recommended every 6-12 months. Your dentist may recommend more frequent visits depending on your oral health and gum condition.
